Bilton Health and Wellbeing Hub to benefit as a Co-op Local Community Fund

3 November 2020

Bilton Health and Wellbeing Hub in Harrogate has been chosen to benefit as a Co-op Local Community Fund.

At a time when funds for community groups and charitable organisations are becoming  more difficult to access, the Wellbeing Hub are incredibly grateful for this opportunity to make a real difference in Harrogate.

The organisation will be raising funds to provide support to local people to be active in their own homes, using remote technology.

North Yorkshire Sport operates the Bilton Health and Wellbeing Hub which provides both a venue for community activities including a youth club, art club, physical activities, and social sessions for older people.

The organisation uses sport as a catalyst for positive change by encouraging local people to be more physically active, improving both physical and mental wellbeing.

The project will enable people to access the Wellbeing Hub and its services remotely. They will offer online physical activity classes, as well as providing a space for other services to contact residents and offer support and advice.

David Watson, Chief Executive of North Yorkshire Sport said:

Co-op members can really make a difference and help us to raise these vital funds. When a member buys selected branded products and services, the Co-op will give a helping hand to local causes like ours. We really hope that people will visit the website and select us as their local cause.
