Rehearsals in Full Swing for Pannal Pantomime

3 February 2026

Oh yes they are! Pannal Players are back and busy rehearsing for this year’s Pannal pantomime; its 39th.

This year’s production is Jack and his Beanstalk, written by Dave Cluderay and directed by Sarah Rhodes. Both debuted in their roles last year and have returned for a second year. The story follows the traditional tale of Jack who sells the family cow for some beans which grow into a giant beanstalk. Expect a giant, a cow and some magic but all with the traditional Pannal Players twist.

Pannal Players Chair Michael Newby said:

It is great that even in our fourth decade we are still able to put on an annual pantomime.

It is interesting to see families who appeared in the early days still involved today.

We are continuing to support the Teenage and Young Adult cancer service at St James’ Hospital in Leeds. This is done in memory of Joanna Luty, a former member of our group who was looked after by the service.

This year’s pantomime runs from Wednesday 18th to Saturday 21st February at 7:30pm with a 2:30pm Saturday matinee in Pannal Village Hall. Tickets are available online from https://buytickets.at/pannalplayers or at Pannal Post Office.
