Family of Teenager who died near Pateley Bridge Fundraise for Bereavement Support Charity

9 December 2025

Family and supporters of Bailey Chadwick, 19, who was involved in a fatal hit and run between Pateley Bridge and Glasshouses as he was walking home in July have joined to raise funds for Just ‘B’, following the charity’s support of those impacted.

Following the tragic news, the family reached out to Just ‘B’ for support to help them to process the sudden loss of Bailey, working alongside bereavement support counsellors to process their grief and emotions, and signpost to further support where possible.

Friends and family of Bailey organised a races night which took place on Saturday 1st November, and saw friends, family and members of the community come together in Bailey’s memory and running a raffle and auction to raise money for the charity, with their efforts raising an incredible £6752.88

Dayle Knights, Bailey’s mum, said:

Close friend of Bailey, Tegan Duncan, said:

There is a deep pain in not knowing, no explanations, no closure. Just a bright life cut short and a community left in the middle of all this uncertainty. We are continuing to stay hopeful for answers.

We are not letting this story fade into the background, we are not letting Bailey’s name be forgotten and we are not giving up – not on justice, not on each other, not on the future.

Because keeping Bailey’s name alive reminds the world that love endures, truth matters and silence won’t have the final word. #BecauseofBailey
