Tom Gordon MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, has secured a clear commitment from the Minister to work together on urgent solutions to the widespread problems caused by spray foam insulation installed under the Green Homes Grant Scheme.
In Parliament, Tom pressed for concrete steps to help affected homeowners, including lifting blanket mortgage bans on properties with spray foam insulation and reforming TrustMark, the government-backed quality assurance scheme, to prevent similar failures in the future.
The Minister responded positively, confirming plans to tackle mortgage access issues, crack down on rogue removal firms, strengthen consumer protections in future schemes, and urgently reform TrustMark to restore confidence.
Tom welcomed this constructive approach and pledged to keep working closely with the Minister to turn these commitments into real solutions for households.
