Tom Gordon, Liberal Democrat MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, was delighted to welcome members of Inspire Youth to Parliament, giving them a first-hand look at life and work at Westminster.
The group enjoyed a guided tour of Parliament, exploring its history, traditions, and day-to-day workings, before joining Tom for an interactive Q&A session. They asked thoughtful questions about his role as an MP, current political issues, and how young people can get involved in politics and make their voices heard.
Tom always enjoys hosting groups from his constituency in Parliament, seeing it as a valuable opportunity to engage the next generation in politics and show them that their voices really do matter.
Commenting, Tom said:
I see engaging young people in politics as an important part of my role, so it was fantastic to welcome Inspire Youth to Parliament for a tour and Q&A.
They asked some excellent questions, and it’s always inspiring to see young people so curious with how our democracy works.
I hope this visit encourages them to stay involved, speak up on the issues that matter to them, and feel confident that their voices can truly make a difference.
