Yorkshire Businesses Swap Suits for Wellies for Disadvantaged Children

23 September 2025

Twelve Yorkshire businesses traded boardrooms for barnyards to compete for the title of Ultimate Farmer at The Principle Trust Children’s Charity’s first-ever Farm Adventure Day, an event proudly headlined by Health and Wellbeing Brands in Skipton and supported by a host of kind-hearted local sponsors who backed the day’s farming challenges.

More than 60 fun-loving participants from across the region, including professional firms Beyondly (Skipton) and Candid HR (Leeds) plus soft furnishing specialist Rachel’s Made to Measure (Otley) and creative agency 21 Degrees Digital (Leeds) – pulled on their wellies and flat caps for a day of muddy, laughter-filled country pursuits.

Teams went head-to-head in challenges ranging from pig herding and welly-wanging to sheep gathering, tractor racing, egg throwing, and the epic Farmer’s Scramble. Hosted at Farm Adventure near Masham, the event offered a truly unique outdoor team-building experience while raising vital funds for local disadvantaged children.

The inaugural Farm Adventure Day reflects the charity’s strategy to create memorable team-building events that also help businesses meet their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, patrons, and participants, the day raised over £4,600 – enough to fund seven free week-long respite breaks for some of Yorkshire’s most vulnerable families.

Sarah Barraclough, Trustee of The Principle Trust and Managing Director of Skipton Properties:

We’re delighted to support The Principle Trust in their mission of making memories that last, whilst making our own.

Offering a team-building day with a difference for my team while helping a charity close to my heart is a true win-win.

The Principle Trust operates under a 100% donation policy, ensuring every penny raised directly funds life-changing holidays for children facing poverty, serious illness, disabilities, trauma, abuse or other adverse experiences.
