Julian Smith MP attends meeting to discuss reopening of the Skipton to Colne line

Julian Smith attended a meeting in Parliament this week hosted by Andrew Stephenson, the for Pendle, and SELRAP (the -East Lancashire Rail Action Partnership) to discuss the progress on the proposed to Colne line.

The meeting gave MPs from across the area the chance to be updated on the progress of the feasibility study, announced by the Department for Transport in February. It was attended by representatives from the Department for Transport, Transport for the North, Drax power station and Skipton Building Society

Julian Smith said:

I was really pleased to be able to attend such a helpful briefing. All contributors to the meeting were very positive about the ongoing feasibility study, and I will continue to support the project in any way I can.
