The Punch Bowl Inn at Marton-cum-Grafton near Boroughbridge has further strengthened its team with the appointment of a new General Manager and a new Head Chef.
Paulo Pinto has joined the Provenance Inns and Hotels Group pub as General Manager, having started his career in hospitality as a waiter when he moved to the UK from Portugal in 2006. Working at well-known restaurants in Yorkshire, he worked his way up to Restaurant Manager, gaining experience of financial management and other necessary skills along the way.
Paul said: I am enjoying working for the Provenance group because I understand the culture of the business, which is about being part of the community, and I have the liberty to do things in my own style. I feel that I have already become part of the community in Marton-cum-Grafton.
Also new to the Punch Bowl is Head Chef Mike Ryan, who has worked with some illustrious names in the industry, including Gordon Ramsey at the Savoy Grill and Tom Aikens at Tom’s Kitchen where he was Senior Sous Chef.
His move to the Punch Bowl came as part of a desire to leave London for the country and the Provenance Group’s ethos of using locally-sourced products in season means he is able to indulge his passion for cooking game.
