3 July 2017

A number of Harrogate organisations are to benefit from the generous support of Freemasons.

Citizens Advice Bureau, Craven & Harrogate, St Aelred’s Irish Dancers and Harrogate High School are three of a total of 20 groups to receive a share of £27,380, from the Provincial Grand Master’s Fund.

These grants, ranging from £500 up to £5,000 are presented on a quarterly basis and the recipients are nominated by Masonic Lodges in West, South, East and North Yorkshire.

St Aelred’s Irish Dancers will receive a grant of £1,150 to fund rain jackets, which will protect dresses for 45 members of the organisation
Citizens Advice Bureau, Craven & Harrogate, is being given 1,000 in order to purchase new furniture for offices, such as desks and chairs
Harrogate High School is set to receive £500 to pay for a defibrillator and a cabinet

David S Pratt, The Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Yorkshire West Riding said: Yet again this is a prime example of Freemasonry being at the very heart of the communities that we live and work in.

It is fantastic that these grants, which are presented four times a year, are giving a helping hand to organisations across our Province. I’m also very proud to say that the money from this fund is all raised locally by our members.
