We are delighted to have been named North Yorkshire’s top family law firm for the second year running.
The ranking by the latest edition of the Legal 500 guide is is a fantastic achievement for us at a time when we celebrate six years in business in Harrogate and the addition of a new lawyer, Emma Doughty, to our growing team.
We were the only legal firm in North Yorkshire to be listed in the top two tiers in the Leeds, West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire area for family law by the guide, which announces the UK’s leading legal experts by region every autumn.
We set out in 2010 to bring to Harrogate the level of expertise clients would usually expect to find in a large city like Leeds, London and Manchester.
To be ranked again as North Yorkshire’s leading law firm and to be named alongside some of the region’s leading big city players shows that we are achieving that goal and being recognised for our excellence in our specialist area of law.
The ranking by the Legal 500 is highly regarded by those in the legal profession but why should it matter to anyone else?
It is a reassuring mark of quality
There are a lot of family law firms out there and finding out which have been assessed positively for their knowledge and expertise by an industry guide is one way of differentiating between them.
An independent recommendation
Authorities such as Chambers UK and the Legal 500 carry out exhaustive research which includes speaking to clients and professionals such as barristers. They use this information to compile their lists which means that they can give an independent view.
Somewhere you can feel comfortable
The rankings focus heavily on client experience and in the case of family law in particular that means putting people at ease. Divorce, separation and family matters involve difficult negotiations, deeply personal information and tough decisions and a good family lawyer has to be able to give clients confidence, reassurance and support. Harrogate Family Law has been widely recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers UK for its empathetic approach.
Family law is notoriously complex and even cases that appear straightforward at first glance often turn out not to be. For this reason, it’s important to have a lawyer advising you who can spot potential pitfalls and difficulties very early on, avoiding extra stress further down the line if things later come to light. In extreme cases this could mean issues are spotted after the settlement and decree absolute have been confirmed, such as pension miscalculations or incorrect asset valuations.
By choosing North Yorkshire’s independently ranked top family law firm you can be certain that you have the right knowledge and experience on your side.
