Local businesses help school hockey team on their way to national finals

A number of businesses and organisations are supporting ’s Under-16 Boys Hockey Team as they celebrate reaching the finals of the National Indoor Hockey Championship.

After a clean sweep at the northern finals, the boys now go on to represent the school as ‘North Champions’ at the national finals of the competition in London later this month.

The boys, all of whom also play for Thirsk Hockey Club outside of school, were unbeaten in the regional finals before , and are confident that they will do well in the national finals, which take place at Whitgift School in London on 15th and 16th January 2016.

John Smith and Sons are providing discounted travel for the team down to London, and Thirsk Club and Hall Engineering have both made a contribution towards the competition entry fee and other costs.
