Serious collision – A66 west of Scotch Corner

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious collision on the A66 near East Layton, west of Scotch Corner.  (5 Nov 2015 at 13:50)

The road is currently closed in both directions and is expected to remain closed for several hours.

The collision was reported at 12.11pm on Wednesday 5 November 2014, and involved a car and a HGV. A woman from the car has been airlifted to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact North Yorkshire Police and 101, select option 1 and pass information to the Force Control Room.
