Nine-year-old girl hit by car in Ripon

A nine-year-old girl has been injured after she was hit by a car in Ripon.

At around 12.30pm on Saturday 13 September 2014, the girl was hit by a silver 4×4 on Fishergate, near Specsavers. She sustained a serious injury to her ankle and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them with information.

In particular, they are trying to trace the occupants of a road maintenance vehicle which was parked up close to the scene of the collision.
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Traffic Constable Steve James or Harrogate Roads Policing Group.
