Bomb disposal on their way to suspect device in York

York police are currently at the scene of a suspected explosive device found in a garden at Bishopthorpe near York. (10 Sept 2014 a 15:45)

Police received a call at around 2.20pm on Wednesday 10 September 2014 from workmen who unearthed the device while working in a garden at a property on Maclagan Road.

A 100 meter cordon has been placed around the area and local roads have been closed.

The army bomb disposal unit has been notified.
