Man seriously injured in collision near Leyburn

Emergency services remain at the scene after a Seat Ibiza collided with a wall on Harmby Road between Leyburn and Bedale.

It happened at around 4pm on Thursday 4 September 2014.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 80s, suffered serious injuries in the collision and has been treated at the scene by paramedics.

The road is currently closed between the A6108 and Harmby village. It is expected to remain closed for some time while officers deal with the incident and examine the scene.

Any witnesses to the collision are urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 1 – and pass information to the Force Control Room.
