Yorkshire Business Market all set to celebrate a decade of networking

16 January 2014

The 10th annual Yorkshire Business Market will take place in Harrogate this April and will be celebrating a decade of successful networking, seminars and promotion opportunities.

Organised by Harrogate Chamber of Trade and Commerce, the one-day event takes place at Pavilions of Harrogate on April 28 and welcomes hundreds of businesses from across Yorkshire.

As it celebrates its anniversary, Yorkshire Business Market will be maintaining its hugely popular format which now attracts 150 exhibitors and 1,500 visitors.

Chamber Chief Executive Brian Dunsby said: It is fantastic to be marking 10 successful years of the Yorkshire Business Market, which we originally conceived as the Harrogate Business Market in 2005.

Since then, the event has grown significantly, but the feedback we have received each year has been overwhelmingly positive: businesses of all shapes and sizes benefit from exhibiting with us, leading seminars or simply coming along to make new contacts and catch up with old ones.

We will be continuing that winning formula this year and into our second decade and look forward to welcoming established and new businesses to join us in April.

The 2013 Yorkshire Business Market was opened by Andrew Jones, MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, who said:  If we do not celebrate business, remember business is the only source of wealth creation, we will not deal with economic conditions we face and our future is consequently bleak.

As Chambers say up and down the country, business is necessary for economic recovery, but it is also good for communities and good for individuals. It’s not as if we have nothing to celebrate. New products and services are visible in all the halls here and there’s a clear entrepreneurial spirit.

Of course, businesses need to get out and reach their customers too and that’s what the Yorkshire Business Market is all about. Reaching customers, networking, renewing contacts, making new ones and in this market has a proven track record.

Chamber President Sandra Doherty said: A lot of our exhibitors said in 2013 that evidence of the first green shoots of economic growth were visible at Yorkshire Business Market.

From the businesses we have already spoken to, we expect an even more positive atmosphere at this year’s Business Market and we look forward to seeing just how much can be generated from this one-day event.

There are numerous opportunities for businesses to take part in Yorkshire Business Market, with options to suit all budgets. As well as taking a stand, giving a seminar or becoming an official sponsor, businesses which take part will be featured in special supplements in the Yorkshire Post and Harrogate Advertiser.

Meanwhile, visitors to the Business Market get free entry and can be in the audience for any of the seminars taking place. There will also be a wide range of prize draws held by exhibitors, on top of the many opportunities to network and build up useful contacts with a huge range of businesses.
