A trade organisation which can trace its roots back to Bradford in 1863 is hosting two national events in Yorkshire.
The Painting and Decorating Association (PDA) is holding its annual National Conference and its second PDA Trade Show at The Majestic Hotel, Harrogate, on Friday, 1 November 2013 and Saturday, 2 November 2013.
The events have been brought back to Yorkshire as the North East Region of the PDA (and founding branch of the organisation) prepares to mark its 150th anniversary later this year.
Chief Executive of the PDA, and Yorkshireman, Neil Ogilvie, said:
The PDA began as a regional trade body in Bradford in 1863, becoming a national representative of painters and decorators in 1894.
The roots of the PDA are in Yorkshire and as a Wakefield man, the county is very close to my heart.
The PDA will host its National Conference, which is already sold out, at The Majestic Hotel from Friday, 1 November 2013.
The second PDA Trade Show is also at The Majestic on Friday, 1 November 2013 from noon until 6pm and Saturday, 2 November 2013, from 10am until 3pm and admission is free.
The Trade Show will offer demonstrations, give-aways and information about the latest products and techniques along with grant-funding advice for training and apprenticeships from the Construction Industry Training Board.
