Boy pushed to the ground in Knaresborough attempted robbery

PoliceA 13 year old boy in Knaresborough  was approached from behind and pushed to the ground before his pockets were searched yesterday.

It happened at around 5pm on Monday 18 March 2013, as he walked along Water Lane.

Knaresborough police are appealing for information following the attempted robbery.

The offenders left empty handed possibly in the direction of Haye Park.

Although the boy did not see the people who tried to rob him, he believes there were at least two offenders involved

PC Ben Hallewell, of Knaresborough Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

This is a shocking attack which has naturally left the young victim very upset.

If you witnessed the incident or can help to identify those responsible, I urge you to come forward and contact the police or Crimestoppers immediately.
