Yorkshire Air AmbulanceDedicated employees at incident management specialist Keycare have raised £5,000 to boost the work of Yorkshire Air Ambulance which provides a life-saving emergency service to five million people across the region.

In partnership with the company’s accountants Naylor Wintersgill, the 31-strong team at Shipley-based Keycare contributed to the fundraising which comprised a series of events including a Jubilee street party attended by pilot Captain Andy Lister and representatives from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Keycare, which recovers and replaces lost or stolen keys for customers of many leading household names, offers finders of lost keys a £10 reward and the funds raised for Yorkshire Air Ambulance were boosted by hundreds of pounds in donations from finders who opted to donate their rewards to the charity.

David Ross, MD of the family-owned business established in 1977, said:

In total we raised almost £18,000 for charities including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance across 2012. We are proud of our long standing corporate responsibility ethos to put something back into our communities and to support worthy causes such as Yorkshire Air Ambulance which needs to raise £7,200 a day to keep both its ambulances maintained and in the air.

Since 2001 Keycare, which was founded 36 years ago and whose customers include 1st Central and Suffolk Constabulary, has donated over £355,000 to charities. This year the business will continue to support a wide range of charitable activity – with a particular focus on Martin House Children’s Hospice at Boston Spa, the Leeds Rugby Foundation at Headingley and Harrogate based Paperworks – a social enterprise which offers services including employment training and direct mailing.
