Renewed appeal following death of a man involved in a collision

PoliceHarrogate police have made a fresh appeal for information following the death of a man involved in a serious road traffic collision, near Boroughbridge .

It occurred at 2.15pm on Sunday 21 October 2012, at the junction of Church Lane and Boroughbridge Road, Kirby Hill. The collision involved a grey Vauxhall Corsa being driven by an 82-year-old man from Easingwold and a silver Land Rover Discovery driven by a 35-year-old woman from Dishforth.

The 82-year-old man sadly died in York District Hospital on Thursday 1 November 2012. He has been named as Fred Dawson and was from Easingwold. The inquest into his death was opened and adjourned in Harrogate on Monday 5 November 2012.

Traffic Constable Steven Wood, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said:

If you witnessed the collision or seen either of the vehicles prior to in the incident please contact the police straight away.
