Skipton Police issue CCTV stills of £2,000 sunglasses theft suspects

5 May 2012

Skipton police have released images of a man and a woman suspected of stealing sunglasses.

It is believed the pair had just left the Boots Opticians shops, High St, Skipton at 1.40pm on Monday 23 April 2012 when they were caught on camera outside Boots The Chemists, which is next door.

While in the opticians, it is thought the man distracted a member of staff while the woman took a number of pairs of sunglasses, valued at around £2,000.

The woman is white with a slim build and dark brown hair. At the time she was wearing a purple Barbour jacket and jeans.

The man is described as white with blond hair and a distinctive bent nose.

PC Andy Middlemiss, of Skipton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

I urge anyone who recognises either of the people caught on camera to contact the police or Crimestoppers straight away.

Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is asked to contact Skipton Police on 101, press option 2 and ask for Andy Middlemiss.

Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number 12120064220.
