A former spa manager who helped to launch the new treatment rooms at Rudding Park before assisting with the relaunch of the prestigious Lion Quays resort in Shropshire has joined Harrogate’s Pure Treatment Rooms.
Fiona Campbell is now part of the 28-strong team at the health and beauty therapy centre on Cheltenham Mount, which is run by ex professional and former England sevens player turned entrepreneur James Tapster and Wayne Morton, previously the England cricket team’s physio.
The move marks a return to hands on treatment work for the businesswoman who has worked globally both as a therapist and manager.
Fiona said:
I missed getting to know the clients and being involved in their treatment, which was the reason I went into the beauty therapy industry in the first place and I’m looking forward to returning to beauty, massage and holistic therapy.
Her practice, Re-New Therapies, will be based at Pure Treatment Rooms and will use natural skincare products by REN, a range that was specially selected by Fiona as it is suitable for her specialist oncology work.
Fiona said:
I have recently trained in oncology therapy so that I can offer treatments to men and women who have cancer or are in remission.
This is a specialist area that requires the therapist to adapt the treatment time and technique and demands the use of natural products that won’t add toxins to the body.
Fiona will be offering beauty treatments including manicures, pedicures and facials as well as a wide range of holistic therapies and massages, many of which use techniques she picked up during her work abroad.
Fiona said:
I worked in Greece, Corsica, Austria and at the Elemis spa in Hong Kong before spending a year as assistant spa manager at a prestigious spa resort in the Maldives.
During my time in the Far East I worked with therapists from lots of nationalities who taught me their traditional massage methods from India, Bali and Thailand and I’m delighted that I will now be able to use this experience to create and deliver my own unique programme of services.
As well as running Re-New Therapies at the Pure Treatment Rooms Fiona has signed up to the Look Good Feel Better scheme at St James’s Hospital in Leeds which provides make up and beauty sessions for cancer patients.
