Police confirm body of a male found in woods in Colton

Joseph Hughes have confirmed that this afternoon the body of a male has been found in woods in Colton.

The family of missing schoolboy Joseph Hughes have been informed, although a formal ID has yet to take place.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police had been appealing for information to trace missing 17-year-old Leeds schoolboy Joseph Hughes.

Joseph, a student at Garforth Academy, was last seen yesterday (18 April) around 4pm when he left his home in the Colton area of Leeds on a bike.

Officers were becoming increasingly concerned about Joseph’s whereabouts as his disappearance was out of character and he had not been missing before.

Anyone with information is asked to contact North East Leeds CID at Stainbeck Police Station via: 101.
