Police condemn mindless vandalism in Selby

PoliceSelby police are appealing for information following an act of criminal damage in the town.

It occurred at the Bovis Homes construction site on Coupland Road, between 5pm on Thursday 5 April and 8am on Tuesday 10 April 2012.

The offenders used a dumper truck to break down the entrance gates before damaging construction equipment and partly constructed buildings on the site.

PC Jill Rawson, of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

This was an act of utterly mindless vandalism, causing unnecessary expenditure and delays.

I would like to speak to anyone who can help to identify those responsible. I ask them to contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.
