Netball players from a Harrogate School have ended the season on a high, after being crowned champions in the Harrogate and District Netball Tournament.
The U13 team from Harrogate Ladies’ College (HLC) played well throughout the tournament and the final match led the team to victory in a closely fought 5-3 win, where HLC took the champion title.
Exactly a week later the team’s younger counterparts, the U12 team, remained unbeaten throughout their tournament and claimed the U12 Harrogate and District title, winning 9-4 in the final match.
All this follows the success of Brie Grierson’s netball achievements who, at the tender age of 14 years-old, was selected to represent England at U17 level, travelling to Glasgow with the England squad to compete in the European Championships. Brie helped England take the championships by inflicting crushing defeats on Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Nicky Butters, Director of Physical Education said:
Brie is certainly an inspirational role model for the junior girls and has helped netball at HLC to go from strength to strength.
