York Police release images of shoplifting suspects

5 March 2012

Police in York have released images of two suspected shoplifters.

The pair were caught on CCTV in Lavender and Celery on Goodramgate shortly after 2.30pm on Thursday 22 December 2011. At the time, they were pushing a pushchair with a small child in it.

It is believed that a man placed a chrome bowl, valued at £28.90, into a bag on the pushchair. As the group left the store, one of them distracted members of staff.

PC Julie Hitchcock, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

I am appealing to anyone who recognises either of people caught on CCTV to contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.

Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is asked to contact York police on 101. Press option 2 and ask for Julie Hitchcock.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number 12110215507.
