North Yorkshire Police have conducted a firearms operation in York which resulted in the arrest of five men.
The incident related to violent threats made to the occupants of a house in the Tang hall area of the city at around noon on Thursday 16 February 2012.
The arrests of the men, all aged in their 20s and local to York, were carried out at 9.15pm on Thursday.
The men remain in police custody for questioning.
Police patrols have been stepped up in the area to provide a reassuring presence for any concerned residents.
Enquiries remain ongoing in and around the area.
