New face at employment law team

Harrogate solicitors, Raworths, have appointed Victoria Notman as a solicitor in the Employment unit headed by partner, Deborah Boylan. Victoria brings the total number of solicitors in the Employment unit to four, one of the largest specialist employment teams in North Yorkshire.

Victoria Notman is originally from Cumbria and studied law at the University of Birmingham and Chester College of Law before training at leading Birmingham law firm, Wragge & Co. She has also worked at international law firm, Pinsent Mason and UK top 50 law firm, Mills & Reeve in Birmingham.

She has specialised throughout her career in employment law issues and has advised a broad range of clients including major blue chip corporations, NHS Trusts, SMEs, charitable organisations and individuals. She has worked extensively in the healthcare sector and includes amongst her expert knowledge a degree in physiotherapy. She has proved a successful advocate in employment law tribunals where she has a wealth of experience and expertise.

The Employment Unit deals with a wide range of employment matters including employment documentation, restructuring, dismissal and redundancy, tribunal work, TUPE issues, dispute resolution and general advice on strategy and HR planning. They are members of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA).

The Raworths Employment Law seminars which are held for employers give twice-yearly updates on changes in employment law, the first of which will take place on Wednesday 28th March at 8.00am and then at 12 noon. Topics covered in the seminars will include proposed changes to the law due in April 2012, the pitfalls of redundancy and restructuring, and the use of social networking in the workplace.
