Woman trapped in car following Thirsk collision

Fire ServiceEmergency services were called to Newsham Road in Thirsk at 8:08am on 20 December 2011.

Firefighters from Thirsk and Northallerton released a woman in her 50s from her car, after it had been involved in an accident. The rescue, mainly involving hydraulic cutting equipment and took approximately 40 minutes.

The female was transported to hospital by air ambulance with internal injuries described as not life-threatening.
