Couple involved in South Stanley collision have died

TrafficIt has been confirmed that the couple involved in a collision on the 15th December on the A61 in South Stanley have both died.

The 73 year old man was taken by air to the LGI and the 72 year old woman to by Ambulance following the between their Subaru Outback and a DAF lorry.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

The road remained closed on the day for many hours while investigation took place.
