Police have now released the name the pedestrian who died after being hit by several cars on the A64 at Bilborough on Saturday 3 December 2011.
His name is Leslie Hughes, aged 60 of The Caravan, Steeton Thatched Cottage, Steeton, Tadcaster.
An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned.
