Teacher opens new venture on Pannal Business Park

4 November 2011

A former Harrogate teacher has launched a new venture on Pannal Business Park.

Sandra Scaife, who taught pre-school children for 16 years, has swapped the blackboard for a menu board to open the park’s first café, which is located in the former Dunlopillo office block.

Rumbles which opened this week (November 1) – and already has an Environmental Health 5 Star rating – will serve locally-sourced produce to the 40-plus businesses on the rapidly- developing business park as well as to the wider community.

Sandra said:

This is a completely new project for me. I was looking for a new challenge and a friend suggested I look at the opportunities available on Pannal Business Park.

The number of businesses and employees on the site is steadily increasing and it was crying out for on-site catering. Currently we produce fresh hot and cold sandwiches, paninis and jacket potatoes all available for pre-orders.

We’ve done our market research which included testing lots of pies and sausage rolls. Another treat for customers will be introducing ‘daily specials’.

Nick Prescott, from industrial property agent Gent Visick, said:

Rumbles café just shows the diversity of companies choosing the Pannal Business Park site.

It is ideal for a wide range of opportunities for SME’s who want out of town facilities. Rumbles Café is a great addition and another reason for businesses to relocate.
