Questions for local MP at college event

Andrew Jones MP and was the special guest at a question and answer session at today to mark democracy week and the launch of the student union elections at the college.

In a short address prior to questions Mr Jones spoke of the differing roles of a Member of Parliament in their constituency and Westminster.

Mr Jones’s talk was followed by a question and answer session which saw a broad range of topics discussed such as Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA), the European Union and the budget deficit.

Mr Jones commented:

I thoroughly enjoy the cut and thrust of questions and answers and it certainly was a lively session. I often visit Harrogate College and on this occasion it was particularly good to welcome new students to the college.
