York, Tadcaster Road bag snatch – images released of suspect

investigating a handbag snatch in have released CCTV images of the suspect.

The theft occurred on Tadcaster Road at around 8.50am on Monday 25 July 2011, when a man riding a bicycle on the pavement grabbed the victim’s handbag.

The man police would like to speak to was captured on CCTV a short time later entering a shop on the forecourt of a BP garage on Tadcaster Road. He tried to use a cash machine before leaving the premises soon after.

PC Colin Sutherland, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I ask that people take a few moments to look at the pictures. If they believe that they can help to identify the man I would like to speak to, can they please contact the police as a matter of urgency.”
