York Police investigate Spurriergate burglary

Detectives in York are appealing for information following a burglary on Spurriergate in the city.

It occurred at Stormfront, a store which sells Apple computer products, at 4.45am on Monday 15 August 2011.

Three men broke into the shop before taking a number of Apple products from the showroom. The value of the stolen items is £11,500.

Following the burglary the thieves left the scene in a silver estate type car.

Detective Constable Leah Wallhead, of York CID, said:

This appears to have been a targeted and pre-planned burglary. The thieves spent only a short time in the store before fleeing the scene.

I urge anyone who either witnessed the burglary or knows anything about the people who carried out this crime to contact the police as soon as possible.

I would also like to speak to anyone who knows the current location of the stolen items or if they are offered any Apple products in unusual circumstances over the next few days.
