HARROGATE-born television presenter Vicky Locklin got a taste of the high life when she gave hundreds of Kenyan entrepreneurs an insight into winning new business – after meeting her new friend, Jambo.
More used to interviewing celebrities and business leaders than a 20-ft orphaned giraffe, Vicky took time out from her media master-classes in Nairobi and Mombasa to visit a giraffe sanctuary for a ‘tall story’ with a difference.
The mum-of-one, who launched her career after studying at Gateways School at Harewod, was invited by the British Council to share her skills gained in a 20-year broadcast career to African business leaders of the future.
The former Calendar TV presenter, who now runs her own media training and presentation company, said: “I am used to trying to make interviewees eat out of my hand but Jambo – Kenyan for ‘Hello’ – was a whole new slobbery experience!”
