Harrogate Man remanded in Custody on a charge of attempted Murder

Stephen Francis Maughan, aged 26, of Station View, appeared before Magistrates’ Court today, charged with attempted murder.

It has now emerged that the prosecution have appealed Stephen Francis Maughan’s release on bail and he has been remanded in custody to appear at Crown Court on Tuesday 11 January 2011.

The man was arrested following an incident at a flat in Franklin Road, Harrogate on Friday 7 January 2010, during which a 41-year-old local man was stabbed. The victim was taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment where he remains in a stable condition.
