One year since the big wheel: Little Bird Made returns to Ripon

21 April 2026

The historic City of Ripon is preparing for the return of the Little Bird Made Artisan Market on Sunday, 26 April 2026. Taking place in the iconic marketplace from 10am, the event marks a nostalgic milestone for the city.

Exactly one year ago, the Ripon skyline was transformed by the “Big Sky Wheel,” a giant 35-metre observation wheel that drew thousands of visitors to the square. While the wheel has moved on, the vibrant community spirit it sparked remains. This April, Little Bird Made continues the legacy of bringing footfall and excitement to the city centre with a curated showcase of the region’s best independent businesses.

Jackie Crozier, Managing Director of Little Bird Made:

Ripon is where the Little Bird journey began back in 2018, and it always feels like coming home.

Looking back to this time last year when the big wheel was in the marketplace, it’s amazing to see how the city continues to embrace these events.

We might not have the 35 metre views this Sunday, but we certainly have the high-quality talent!

Alice Norton, owner of Nortin’s Deli:

We can’t wait to trade in Ripon again with Little Bird Made on Sunday. We’ve attended so many markets there now, firstly as A&R Menu and now as Norton’s Deli and since opening our shop down the arcade it definitely feels like home.

The atmosphere is always great and the artisan market just brings everyone together.

The artisan market provides a vital platform for small-batch producers and makers, offering a shopping experience that can’t be found elsewhere. The event is family-friendly, dog-friendly, and free entry.
