Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has announced the leasehold sale of the award-winning Bull Inn in West Tanfield, near Ripon.
The pub has been operated for the last 13 years by Gil Richardson and Phil Spellacy, who decided to step back from running the business and sell the lease for the pub, to allow them to retire.
The new operators are Richard and Emma Ripley, who commented:
We are absolutely delighted to have taken over The Bull Inn in West Tanfield, and we are really looking forward to welcoming both our regulars and plenty of new faces over the coming weeks.
The Bull has always been a proper village pub at the heart of the community, and that’s exactly how we want to keep it – a warm, welcoming place where people can enjoy good food, great beer, and friendly company.
We would like to say a big thank you to Gil and Phil for everything they’ve done at The Bull over the years. They have built something special, and we’re proud to be taking it forward.
We’re currently working on a new menu which will showcase fresh, locally sourced ingredients and Yorkshire favourites. We can’t wait to get started and welcome everyone for a pint, a bite to eat, or just a chat by the fire.
Former operator Gil Richardson said:
We always had a brilliant bunch of locals, and lots of seasonal locals too who would return year after year for summer breaks in the area.
I’d like to thank everyone who stuck with us for 13 years, both staff and customers, for really making the atmosphere of the pub.
Best of luck to Emma and Richard in taking over the reins, and I hope they have as much fun along with the hard work as I did.
The pub is owned by landlord Christopher Bourne-Arton, who said:
