Henshaws’ Christmas concert is returning to Ripon Cathedral this festive season, with tickets now on sale.
Following the success of the concert’s debut last year, choirs and musical guests will once again return to the cathedral to raise money to support the charity Henshaws’ life-changing work with children, young people, and adults living with sight loss and a range of disabilities across Yorkshire.
The magical evening will mark the start of the festive season at the iconic Ripon Cathedral on Monday 24th November, at 6.45pm. This year’s Charity Festive Showcase promises to bring festive cheer, music, poetry, and community spirit to the heart of Yorkshire.
Henshaws’ Charity Festive Showcase features an incredible line-up, including:
- Singer-song writer and rising star Leo Hicks
- The Harrogate Spa Town Ukes who are set to bring a joyful energy with their uplifting sound
- The Yorkshire Voices Choir, a dynamic choral ensemble guaranteed to raise the roof
Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre Makaton Choir who are returning after last year’s show-stopping performance that didn’t leave a dry eye in the Cathedral
The Charity Festive Showcase will be compered by Henshaws Patron Dave Steele, also known as the internationally acclaimed spoken word artist the ‘Blind Poet’.
Dave recently released a deeply moving and critically acclaimed BBC documentary ‘The Film I’ll Never See’. The film chronicles his journey through the final stages of sight-loss and explores how he found a new purpose in poetry. As well as hosting the Charity Festive Showcase, Dave will be sharing his thought-provoking poetry throughout the evening.
Guests will be invited to join in with much-loved traditional carols and there will be mulled wine, mince pies, and a Festive Raffle with prizes generously donated by local businesses, including family days out, bottles of wine, and golf experiences.
Every ticket sold will help Henshaws to continue to deliver its services and support that empowers people in the community with disabilities to live their lives to the fullest.

We are over the moon to be back with this fabulous event. The atmosphere last year was nothing short of magical, and there wasn’t a dry eye when our Makaton Choir performed.
This year, we’re hoping it will be even bigger and raise a phenomenal amount for Henshaws, while bringing the community together for a night of festive celebration.
