A direction has been issued by officials on behalf of the Secretary of State under
delegated powers with regard to the Harrogate Spring Water/ Danone bottling plant expansion planning application.
The direction say that the planning application should be looked at by them before approval. It is not an indication that the Secretary of State has an intent to refuse or approve, or will even call-in the planning application.
A spokesperson for Danone UK & Ireland said:
We have worked constructively with council officers and engaged with the local community to ensure our plans align with planning policy and reflect the commitments we have made.
The planning documents (including S106 and Condition 12) provide certainty for both the community and the Council and strike the right balance between sustainable development and economic growth.
