Work begins on 63 new Taylor Wimpey homes in Boroughbridge

22 February 2021

Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire has begun construction on its upcoming Boroughbridge development, Bondgate, also launching a temporary sales centre for customers to book appointments to discuss the homes on offer.

The homebuilder received full planning approval in May 2020 to deliver a new housing development in Langthorpe, Boroughbridge and work has now commenced on 63 homes for the area, 40% of which are allocated for affordable housing.

Located just a short drive from Boroughbridge town centre, Bondgate will feature a mixture of three- and four-bedroom homes with associated parking and landscaping. The development will also include an area of public open space along the southern boundary with the majority of existing trees and hedges to be retained.

As part of its planning permission, Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire will provide close to £50,000 towards open space, £25,000 towards cycling and pedestrian improvements and close to £100,000 towards the local Village Hall.

Steven Ball, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, said:

We’re very pleased to get construction underway and to open our temporary sales centre at Bondgate.

The development will offer a range of high-quality new build homes, including affordable housing and, as a responsible homebuilder, we will be investing in the local community, working with schools and charitable organisations over the coming years.

We want to build a thriving community in Boroughbridge which people can be proud of and we’re looking forward to speaking with our very first customers.

  1. Let’s hope the site is managed better then the Taylor Wimpey Development at Stump Cross where they have made life hell for the residents. Noise from 6.30 am, mud on the road, traffic management on the main road restricting access to properties without any prior consultation with the residents, sweeping the road at 8.30 at night when young children are in bed, parking wagons along the main road ( last week more than ten Tarmac wagons parked waiting to enter the site) and an illuminated sign fixed to the gable end of a house which shines into peoples houses. They have conveniently placed the site office in the middle of the site so no one can access the management of the site without infringing health and safety rules and there is no contact telephone number. No consideration of the residents at all – DISGRACEFUL
