Darts champion to appear in Harrogate

The Bilton Working Mens Club (BWMC) have announced that Phil “The Power” Taylor will be appearing at the Club on Friday 5th April 2013.

He is 16 times world champion and the most successful darts player in history.

The Bilton Working Mens Club has been going 100 years in its present form and is some way from the traditional image of the working man’s club.

The Committee are developing the club to be a real community club offering something for everyone of all ages. Currently they have around 1,200 members and they represent a real cross-section of Bilton’s close-knit community – many have been members for over 30 years!

In our centenary year it is fitting that we have been able to get such a legend to the Club courtesy of Sports Media Promotions. He is the epitome of professionalism and his achievements speak for themselves – we are expecting a full house with a great atmosphere for this once in a lifetime event.

Due to our club status, we cab offer drinks at a fraction of pub prices and have lots of activity going on, particularly live music and sport.

Joining is easy is also very easy with a  £10 joining fee and then £10 per year to be a member.

On the night, Phil will be starting with a question and answer session followed by a demonstration and then he will play a selection of local players. You can win the chance to play Phil as we are running a darts competition courtesy of Sports Media Promotions on Sunday 17th February at 2pm at the Club. The winner will play Phil and there is a runners-up prize of £100. Anyone can take part and there will be players of all levels and experience – there will be time to practice before the tournament – the room will be open from noon.
