The Knaresborough Duck race on the river Nidd new year’s day 2011.
It was lucky that the weather had warmed up as it was frozen only a week before. Around 5,000 ducks were dropped from High Bridge at 1.30pm where they slowly made their way down -stream to the finish line outside Marigolds Cafe. A few ducks were reluctant starters so were helped along by the hoses of the Knaresborough fire service.
It was organized by Knaresborough Cricket Club with Henshaws benefiting from the proceeds.
