Assault of a 14-year-old girl at funfair in Harrogate

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an alleged assault of a 14-year-old girl that occurred in Harrogate.

Officers are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

It happened on The Stray between 6-7pm on Sunday 28 August 2016 and involved a group of girls aged between 14 and 18 chasing a 14-year -old girl around the fun fair, before punching and kicking her while she was on the floor.

The 14-year-old girl received a cut to her head from where she was hit with a bottle and injuries to her face and mouth from being kicked. She was treated at Harrogate District Hospital before being released following treatment.
