Dr Kathleen Rutherford MBE practiced as a Doctor in Harrogate from 1920 till her retirement in the late 1960s. She was recognised as a ‘Legend in her Own Lifetime” for her humanitarian work across the world. The Harrogate Civic Society awarded her plaque in recognition of her considerable achievements. She was also a founder member and the first President of Soroptimist International of Harrogate in 1933. Yorkshire TV Calendar devoted a programme to her life in 1970.
