RHS Harlow Carr
Summer Nights Film Festival is back for an eighth year at thirteen fabulous locations across the UK. Presented by QUAD on an inflatable twelve metre screen, Summer Nights Festival screenings offer the chance to enjoy the great outdoors for a unique cinematic experience.
We are pleased to announce that we have added an extra night to RHS Harlow Carr and we will be screening the popular musical The Greatest Showman (PG). We are also showing Grease (PG) and Beauty and the Beast (PG) across the weekend.
Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron star in The Greatest Showman, the musical re-telling of P.T. Barnum’s creation of the Barnum & Bailey Circus. After Barnum (Hugh Jackman) loses his job as a clerk, he takes out a bank loan to enter the amusement industry, eventually opening Barnum’s Circus. After being berated for simply running a ‘freak show’, Barnum hires a young playwright (Zac Efron) in order to appeal to a more highbrow audience. Featuring all the dazzling spectacle of the circus itself, the film proved to be an unexpected box office sensation with the song ‘This is Me’ going on to become a Golden Globe winner. Disney’s 2017 remake of the classic story Beauty and the Beast stars Emma Watson as the bookish Belle. When Belle’s father fails to return one day, she searches for him and stumbles across an old castle occupied by enchanted furniture and a Beast (Dan Stevens) who was once a handsome prince. Grease is the word in this iconic musical. Greaser Danny (John Travolta) and homely girl Sandy (Olivia Newton John) come from opposite sides of the track, but some Summer Lovin’ brings the two together. Embarrassed to be seen with her when they return to Rydell High, Danny spends his time working on Greased Lighting with his T-Birds whilst Sandy joins the Pink Ladies.
RHS Harlow Carr will be screening The Greatest Showman (PG) on Thursday 13th September, Grease on Friday 14th September and Beauty and the Beast on Saturday 15th September.
