Knaresborough MP Andrew Jones is joining supporters of the Knaresborough Dementia Friendly Group on a Memory Walk this Saturday (15 September) in Knaresborough.
The walk will raise funds and awareness of dementia and is part of a nationwide timetable of Memory Walks. The walk is in woodland around Mother Shipton’s Cave, meeting at the visitor entrance at 2pm.
Mr Jones is no stranger to Memory Walks having organised three in Harrogate and raised thousands of pounds for research and to support those living with the disease.
Andrew Jones MP commented:
Dementia is caused when the brain is damaged by diseases. It is not a foregone conclusion of old age. Like any disease we can fight it and search for a cure. That is why it is important that we all get behind these Memory Walks.
Anyone wanting to join the walk or offer support to the Knaresborough Dementia Friendly Group and the Alzheimer’s Society should contact Alison Wrigglesworth on 07595 219225 or by email at a.wrigglesworth@alzheimers.org.uk
