The magic and atmosphere of a visit to the beach will be arriving in Knaresborough from this Sunday (6th August) when Henshaws Urban Beach returns for the summer season.
Thanks to a successful Crowdfunder campaign earlier in the year, Henshaws will once again transform their Arts & Crafts Centre into an oasis of family fun from Sunday 6th –Sunday 27th August. Henshaws Urban Beach is free to visit and will be open daily from 10.00am to 4pm.
The Urban Beach has become a fantastic event, held in Knaresborough every August. When the sun is shining it plays host to hundreds of children and parents every day! The atmosphere is magical with live music, face painting and other arts and crafts activities on offer.
Visitors will also be able to sample a selection of delicious treats and refreshments including wood-fired pizzas, a “pop up” gourmet burger stand and an ice cream parlour. Henshaws café will also be serving food and drink and selling picnics to enjoy on the sand.
Once again, the beach is hosting daytime and evening events as part of Knaresborough feva 2017. Entertainment on offer includes: live music from Holy Moly and the Crackers, Circle Live plus others; theatre groups such as Memory Box and Practically Theatre; crafting with Painting Pots; and a family quiz and fancy dress parade.
Maria Dawbarn, centre manager at Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre said:
The beach is the number one thing to do here in Knaresborough this summer, with activities every day to keep children (and parents) entertained and happy.
Everyone is invited to join the Urban Beach Opening Party from 1pm on Sunday 6th August. Entry to the centre and the Urban Beach is free.
A full event programme, including ticket prices (where applicable) and booking information, can be found on the website www.henshawsacc.org.uk or from the Arts & Crafts Centre.
