THE ARTS SOCIETY HAMBLETON is showcasing members’ work in a Spring ArtsFest , from 10th to 14th April, at Rural Arts in Thirsk. As part of the Society’s programme to help celebrate 50 years of dedication to the fine and decorative arts, the exhibition is a unique opportunity to see some of our hidden regional talent and features a diverse range of fine art and crafts by society members, some of whom have not exhibited before.
The Hambleton group was formed in 1990 as Hambleton Decorative and Fine Arts Society, but became The Arts Society Hambleton in September 2017, following the change of name by the national organisation to which they are affiliated. With approximately 230 members drawn from a wide area around North Yorkshire the society is a great way to get involved with and learn about the fine and decorative arts.
Arts Society Hambleton chairman, Helen Proudley from Sowerby, said “This gives both the Society and Rural Arts, with whom we already have a working relationship, the opportunity to highlight new work and artists from the local area. We are delighted to be able to stage this exhibition as part of THE ARTS SOCIETY’s 50th anniversary”.
The exhibition includes paintings in a variety of media, prints, photography and crafts with more than seventy exhibits from 17 artists.
